SCP won three awards in Singapore Institute of Planners' 5th SIP Awards Competition

The planning awards gala dinner was held on 21st September 2017 at The Swissotel Merchant Court. This biennial event showcases outstanding projects undertaken by urban planners and planning consultancy firms in Singapore and overseas. SCP Consultants Pte Ltd (SCP) received three awards - Silver in Best Project for Infrastructure Planning, Bronze in Best Urban Design Project and Merit in Best Planning Project.



The Road and Infrastructure Construction Design for Mingalar, Mandalay City, Myanmar

The Road and Infrastructure Construction Design for Mingalar was awarded Silver in Best Project for Infrastructure Planning category. This project ensures safe, reliable and environmental friendly water supply and infrastructure needs under difficult local conditions, and has become the benchmark project in Mandalay.


Urban Design for Huaqiao International Service Business Park in Kunshan Jiangsu Province, China

Huaqiao International Service Business Park Urban Design was awarded Bronze in Best Urban Design Project Planning category. This project was initiated 10 years ago with excellent vision to create a first-class international service business park, advanced scale of development, and people-oriented sustainable development design concepts. Through 10 years’ construction, Huaqiao International Service Business Park has become the best outsourcing industrial park in China, smart park for modern service industrial development and home for businessman.


Concept Plan for Yilong New District

Concept Plan for Yilong New District was awarded Merit in Best Planning Project. Through smart technology, mountain tourism, poverty alleviation economic, this project has successfully explored a new model for integrated industrial city development in mountainous city, laying a good foundation for future-oriented, sustainable eco-smart city.


SCP emphasizes on project feasibility, providing effective solutions to cities and zone developments. These three awarded projects are future-oriented and implementable hence highly acclaimed by the jury.


In the meantime, Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) provided a platform for exchange and sharing by Dr Cheong Koon Hean (CEO, Housing & Development Board). Dr Cheong shared her experiences in latest project and relevant planning in Singapore, elaborates on the planning, urban design and architecture partnership. The judging panel as well as honored guests were W. Paul Farmer (past president, American Planning Association), Fong Chun Wah (Deputy CEO, HDB), Hwang Yu Ning (Chief Planner, URA), and Mohinder Singh (Dean, LTA Academy).
