Ms Quek Bee Lan

Ms Quek Bee Lan joined SCP Consultants Pte Ltd in Sep 2010. She is now the Senior Vice President and Senior Consultant (Industry Development) responsible for market development. branding and  corporate communications. Since then, she has played a key role in securing a series of important projects and helped to achieve higher branding profile for the company. She has been appointed as Tourism Consultant of China Kunshan City in 2010 and Changzhou Dinosaur Theme Park in 2013 offering professional expert services to both city and attractions. In addition, she has been active in promoting strategic partnership with the cities in Jiangsu, Shanxi, Guizhou, Liaoning, Anhui, Fujian and institutions like Pudong Cadres Institute, Xian Jiatong Liverpool University and Nantong Coastal Development Group.  

Prior to this, Bee Lan was the Special Assistant to JTC Chairman and CSSD CEO from 1998-2002 to help manage the development of Suzhou Industrial Park Project; Special Assistant to STB Chief Executive, concurrently the Assistant Director (International) of
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) from 2003-2010 to plan, develop and market Singapore as a premier tourist destination for leisure, enrichment and MICE in Asia. She was actively involved in the launch and promotion of STB’s Tourism 2015 Plan and Uniquely Singapore branding in 2004 to developing tourism into Singapore’s key economic driver for quality growth.

From 1998 to 2000, she was the Special Assistant and PR Advisor to CSSD CEO, CSSD is the developer and manager of China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park.

From 2001-2002, she was the Special Assistant to JTC Chairman, and concurrently Head (China Affairs) of Ascendas Pte Ltd and Vice President (Corporate Services) of Ascendas Shanghai responsible for corporate communications and corporate services.

From 2003 to 2010, Bee Lan has developed and established strong strategic relationship and networks with National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), G2G, travel trade and stakeholders in Greater China and North Asia region to strengthen bilateral cooperation for Singapore tourism. She played a key role in promoting corporate training, education and overseas study trips (OST) between
China, North Asia and Singapore by working with the Singapore Ministry of Education and respective provincial and municipal government and education bureau to drive education exchange programme for longer term tourism cooperation. The number of PRC students to Singapore shot up from a mere 400 in 2004 to more than 20,000 annually over the years. She also played an instrumental and pioneering role in inking MOUs with respective PRC provincial and municipal government to drive long term tourism growth and promote tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange between both countries.

Bee Lan is a qualified and experienced corporate communications and marketing specialist as well as Greater China affairs specialist. From 1998 to 2000, she was based in Suzhou and actively involved in the development of Sino-Singapore flagship project Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). She played a critical role in CSSD, planning and implementing many key programme that were necessary to complete the development of the first phase of SIP and the training of the Chinese management team.
